Description
The young Mary stands reading a text lovingly listened to by her mother Sant’Anna who is seated at her side; the two figures, depicted full-bust, are inserted in an internal environment, with side drapes that act as wings. The softness of the drapery of the dresses and the contrast of the bright colors are interesting. The work is presented in a richly carved frame.
On the reverse an exhibition label and partially decipherable writings with the date 1863.
